I would recommend "The hundred years war on Palestine" by Rashid Khalidi, and "The ethnic cleansing of palestine" by Ilan Pappe'. The best way to get informed, is to read some well researched books, written from an objective viewpoint.

"The invention of the Jewish people" by Shlomo Sand is an excellent carefully researched work on the conversion to the jewish faith in eastern europe, and the history of the people who live in modern day Palestine/Israel. It undermines the widely held belief, that most jews were expelled by the Romans, and also demonstrates that ashkenazi jews are the descendants of converted jews, not indigenous to the Middle East.

"Legacy of violence A history of the British Empire" By Caroline Elkins, is an excellent and very informative book, covering the period from 1700 in Jamaica to 1963 in Kenya. There is a section on Palestine that details the atrocities that were inflicted on the Palestinians by the British, such as collective punishment, extreme violence, torture, rape, midnight raids, the use of military and emergency law, divide and rule. If this list sounds familiar, it's because people such as the infamous Orde Wingate a zealous christian zionist, recruited and trained jewish zionists in these methods, and in turn these recruits carried forward these tactics into the modern day. It's a depressing but enlightening read, many of the "heroes" of the British Empire were either directly involved or at the very least complicit.
